MCEF
The Creator family has been involved in MCEF (Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions) since its inception in 1976, when the original Food Bank building was located in the parking lot of Church of the Creator. MCEF, now supported by 40 area churches, serves the community with the One Stop Shop where clients receive emergency food, clothing, and support. A telephone hot-line assists clients by providing emergency financial assistance for utility bills, medicine, and rent: 804-357-4093. MCEF also provides rides for Seniors who are no longer able to drive: 804-357-9360.
The Creator family collects canned goods and non-perishable items continually. Each month, we organize and pack the donations for delivery to the One Stop Shop. Our volunteers serve in the food bank and clothing closet, on the telephone hot-line, and have served on the Board of Directors. Be part of our team!
