Finance
At Creator we are committed to good stewardship while actively building and preserving the financial resources necessary to support the accomplishment of Christ’s mission, both for the short and the long term.
Our Finance Committee assists our Vestry in its fiduciary responsibilities and, working with the Treasurer, oversees our financial systems, our operational accounts, our capital accounts, and our trusts and endowments. It prepares our annual budget and insures our annual audits are in order. Each month the committee keeps the Vestry and the rector informed of the financial wellness in out church. It gives advice and counsel to the Vestry on financial matters and offers direction to our leadership regarding extra-budget income, spending, and investments.
Committee Responsibilities:
In addition to developing an annual budget, the committee also sets long-term financial goals. These goals might include, for example, the creation of a working capital or cash reserve fund and the creation of a fund for maintaining or replacing equipment.
The Committee meets six times a year to review the financial reports and prepare the Parish budget. If you have financial expertise and would like to offer you skills to the parish, we would welcome your addition to the valuable ministry.
Please contact Katherine Earls or Jim Eppes for more information.
